How to delete an unwanted E Mail account

With an E Shop Hosts ecommerce hosting account you have the facility to both add e-mail accounts or remove any email accounts that are on your main account. The number of email accounts you have depends on the type of ecommerce hosting account that you have and the numbers are displated in the chart in the left hand side sidebox on your cPanel homepage.

Please be aware that you are unable to delete the email account used for the main cPanel user.

Removing the unwanted email account

  • Log in to your hosting cPanel
  • On the cPanel home page click on the 'Mail Accounts' icon and a page will show with a list of your current e-mail accounts.
  • Then select the 'Delete' option for the email account you want to remove.
  • A window will then appear asking you to confirm your intention to delete the e-mail account. Click on yes to confirm and delete the account.
  • If the account was deleted successfully, the following will appear (except it will contain the email address you are deleting rather than name@domain.com):

    The e-mail account name@domain.com was successfully deleted.

    N.B. Ensure that you are not trying to delete the main email or the email account used for the cPanel hosting account as it cannot be deleted. Clicking on No on the confirmation page will cancel the process and the account will not be deleted.
